Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has earned a spot on Corporate Knights’ 2023Global 100 list of Most Sustainable Corporations in the world for the 12th time in the row.
Strong performance across climate and social commitments, such as sustainable revenues and investments, gender diversity and sustainability pay linkhavehelpedsecure Schneider Electric’s peer group leadership position in this annual index compiled bythe Corporate Knightssustainability research group. The Global 100 is based on a rigorous assessment of public companies with revenues over US$1 billion.Schneider Electric is the only one of its category to have been named aGlobal 100 every year since 2012 and was ranked as the world’s most sustainable corporationby Corporate Knightsin 2021.
This achievement follows a previous announcement of Schneider Electric receiving top Environmental Societal and Governance (ESG) ratings from Standard & Poor’s, CDP and Moody’s ESG Solutions for its sustainability impacts and best practices. For example, Schneider Electric’s Climate Strategy and its commitment to environmental transparency was one of the first to be validated in accordance with SBTi’s Corporate Net-Zero Standard mid-2022.
Schneider Electric is also just one of 19corporate recipients of this year’s Terra Carta Sealrecognizing global companies that are driving innovation, demonstrating commitment, and gaining momentum towards genuinely sustainable markets.The Sealis part of the Sustainable Markets Initiativewhich His Majesty King Charles III set up in January 2021 while he was the Prince of Wales to encourage the private sector to take more urgent action on climate change.

On the local level, Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and Levant has launched and executed several sustainability initiatives led by the participation in the Hayah Karima initiative through which Schneider Electric executed a number of developmental projects in Esna and Dandara in Luxor and Qena where the company’s solutions were used to provide creative easy-to-use models of solar-powered greenhouses, poultry incubators and fish farms creating more than 200 job opportunities and contributing to enhancing the income of more than 1,000 families.Schneider Electric has also carried out several initiatives as part of its participation in COP27 that included the Sustainability Hub that aimed at raising awareness about climate change and showcasing Schneider Electric’s state-of-the-art digital solutions and projects that address climate, environment and social needs; the Green Challenge in which King Salman University students were awarded for their creative ideas to help their local communities through econ-friendly solutions, the introduction of EVlink chargers for Electric cars in Sharm El Sheikh; in addition to the ongoing collaboration with the governorate of South Sinai to contribute to the transformation of Sharm El Sheikh into Egypt’s first green city.
